Sydney born Dominic Kirk is Australia’s youngest Babalawo and only Olu-Bata (Priest of Aña Sacred Bata drums). Also an accomplished musician performing professionally since the age of 12, Dominic has performed throughout Australia and internationally with artists such as Deni Hines (AUS), HERMITUDE (AUS), Pedrito Martinez (CUBA), OMAR (UK), Bill Summers (Herbie Hancock), Julio Padron (CUBA/Irakere) and Huey Dunbar (DLG) among others.
In 2013 at 23 years of age Dominic placed 2nd competing at the prestigious international percussion festival held annually in Havana; ‘La Fiesta Del Tambor’. Dominic continues to work as a Babalawo and as a musician internationally and has recently launched his own Afro Cuban folkloric company ‘OSA EŠU’ performing the music and dance of Santeria/IFA.
